How to Evaluate the Hard Drive

Data is the most important thing for professional as well as individual users and it is very essential to save them otherwise it may destroy your business. According the statistics of various researches, almost half of data loss is occurs only due to hard drive crash.

So, as a safeguard, you can prevent your half of data loss only by preventing hard drive crash. To prevent it, it is most important to know that what are the reasons of hard drive crash and how can you prevent it.

Basically, hard drives can undergo one of the two circumstances of failure:

  1. Expected ones, when some failure modes like aging and mechanical wear, happen by and by over time. In these situations, when the temperature of the drive increases, it may cause hard drive crash.
  2. Unexpected ones, when some other failures can occur unexpectedly and suddenly like and electronic component failing.

Any of these situations, may cause hard drive crash and finally data loss. To prevent it, you need for hard drive evaluation.

Hard Drive Evaluation:

Hard drive evaluation is the process of monitoring the hard drive performance. In this process, user monitors that drive temperature, processing speed and uses of hard drive. It is a pre crash process to keep your hard drive from safe.

The technology used for hard drive is known as S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology). This is the hard drive monitoring system for hard drives to identify and report on several indicators of dependability, in expect of anticipating failures.

Hard drive evaluation is generally done with the help of special data recovery software based on S.M.A.R.T. technology. These software works as an “early warning system” for avoiding hard drive problems. These software monitor the hard drive performance and consider whether the hard drive is working normally or not. The software provides the complete information about different drive parameters like Temperature, spin-up time and head flying height and compares them to the entry value below/above which the drive can fail.

Though, these software works in most of the conditions, but in case when they fail to warn you or after warning you don’t shut down your system, a hard drive crash may occur and can cause the serious data loss. In these situation of data loss, you shouldn’t further use your computer. The hard drive recovery in these circumstances is possible only through data recovery services.

Hard Drive Recovery

Seagate hard drives are most widely used and they are known as most reliable hard drives. They also provide enhanced accessing speed as compared to other hard drive. But you should never think that there will be no damage on Seagate hard drive or they will never fail.

I’m telling this thing because I have experienced data loss in Seagate hard drive. I have 500 GB Seagate SATA hard drive. It had crashed just after installing new graphic driver (nVidia GeForce 8400 GS). The Master File Table (MFT) on the disk partition has been damaged therefore operating system can’t read or write from or to disk. It happened after I had to hard reboot my system after random freeze.

Now, the Master File Table is damaged, and all of my hard drive data are inaccessible. Because of some busy schedule and some over confidence on faithful system I took last backup almost 5 months ago. I was planning to backup my important files to my laptop, but now it’s so late.

Now I have two options, access the drive using another system or to recover the data using hard drive recovery software. I decide to use first option; I attached my hard drive to my laptop and tried to access it. But I failed to do it, because all the logical partitions of my hard drive are disappeared.

Now, my last and only hope is to recover the lost data using hard drive recovery software. I’m not much familiar about hard drive recovery software so I started searching on Internet about technical support for my problem. I found a data recovery software provider company: Stellar Information Systems Ltd and told my problem to their technical support team. I got a shy of relief when they told me that data recovery in my case is possible up to 98% and recommended me to download the demo version of Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software.

I downloaded the demo version and scanned my hard drive through it. After completing the scanning process it displayed the recoverable data in tree format and I found that all my important data are recoverable. I tried to save them using “Recover All” option but the software displayed a message that I have to activate the software in order to save the recovered data. As I was satisfied with the result, I purchased the activation key of the software and recovered all the data. I found Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software the best hard drive recovery tool.

Hard Drive Data Recovery after Physical or Logical Damage

All of us who use computers are aware of the importance of data. It is very critical to store and manage data in an organized manner. The process through which you recover data after data has been lost is known as Data Recovery. Data can be lost due to a computer crash, hard disk malfunction, and software problem or virus attack. Anyone of us who has experienced data loss will feel helpless and frustrated. The cost of lost data can be measured both in monetary and intrinsic terms. While your boss is eating your head off you will also be pondering about lost music, movies and your wedding photos. It is very important to understand that any kind of Data Recovery process must be initiated by professionals. You should never ever attempt any Data Recovery process yourself.

To prevent Data loss of any kind, you need to back up all the files securely. It may not be possible to manually backup each and every file. There are specialized file backup software which are used to store and protect important data. You can also use a scheduler to choose the frequency of backup. The biggest advantage of using this method is that it will save you from a lot of trouble if data has been lost due to any reason.

There are various ways in which a Hard Drive can suffer physical damage. Its parts may be damaged and fail due to mechanical wear and tear. Another instance can be when bearings which help the platter rotate can fail due to damage. You need to remember that when physical recovery is done, damaged components are repaired or replaced depending on the type of damage. At the same time, specialized hardware and software tools are utilized during the data recovery process. It is also helpful when a hard drive has been severely damaged. For any kind of physical Data Recovery, the damaged drive needs to be sent to a data recovery lab.

In order to initiate Data Recovery after logical damage you need the help of data recovery software. The software can be helpful in recovering lost files and folders. The software also helps you in cases when data has already been deleted from Recycle Bin or through use of Shift+Delete key. In addition, the software also supports Data Recovery from severely corrupted file systems and hard drives. Other instances can be when hard drive has been formatted and operating system has been reinstalled. Hard drive recovery software also helps you to recover re-partitioned hard drives and when the file system has been modified.

What do You Need to Know About Data Recovery?

At many points in time, everybody who works on a computer will face the tribulations and trials of hard disk failure. The reasons are different, and may include human errors, system failure (either hardware or software) and damage resulting from fire or flood. Viruses and spywares can play a role as well along with several other factors. For several years, the requirement to recover data that has been destroyed or lost has made data recovery such an important asset.

Almost all hard disks are recoverable. Generally, if the hard drive is making a scratching or a ticking noise, you can use certain data recovery software to recover the lost data. Sometimes, because of bad parts or age, the aperture arm of the hard drive may fail, or the platters may corrupt and lose the data that they hold. In this case, you can not recover the data using software, you would be in need to send your drive off and have it either remake or have data recovery professional help.

Data recovery is always an alternate from hard disks that are two giga bytes in size to the largest of more than 300 giga byte or more of data. Whatever the size of your hard drive, the data can be recovered commonly. Always keep in mind that if you have had a computer crash, you will need to send your drive to data recovery labs to recover the data with the help of data recovery technicians.

One of the major benefits of data recovery is the fact that data can also be recovered that has been deleted from recycle bin or by using Shift + Del keys. Partition recovery and even the information that has lost somewhere on the disk can be restored as well. Although it may seem like your data is gone forever- the data recovery software and data recovery service can retrieve the data.

From Windows to Mac, everything can be restored. There are different file systems and format according to the operating system used in your system. These may include NTFS or FAT 32 for Windows and HFS or HFS+ for Mac. These are the common parts of operating system and stored all the information about your data.

The data can also be recovered from the damaged RAID drives. This is most beneficial for the user or organizations that have multiple hard drive on their computers or servers.

SATA Hard Drive Suddenly Corrupted

I have a new Windows XP Powered PC (almost one month old). I’m a freelance web designer and used this computer for storing my projects and clients information. It was working very well.

Yesterday I came from market and started checking mails as it is my daily routine. While checking the mails, my internet explorer suddenly stopped responding and the computer hanged. I stopped myself to do anything. After few minutes I got a strange error message in explorer.exe file that I never come across before.

I restarted my computer and while booting I got a blue screen with an error message “Read error from disk, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart”. The error message was repeated again and again whenever I tried to start my computer. I had option to reinstall windows XP but I failed in it also because it only recognized an old XP installation of my secondary SATA hard drive working as Logical Drive D.

I unplugged my secondary hard drive and attempted to install XP on it by attaching to other computer and it shown that I have a 298 GB drive with 298 GB free space, no file system detected or anything. I was much tensioned as I lost all my information stored on the drive that also contains a project that was almost completed.

I asked my friend in this regards who is hardware engineer. He told me that it’s not a hardware fault. The problem is occurred due to file system corruption and it formatted your drive. He suggested me to search on internet to find out any software that can help me in recovering my lost data.

I searched on net and found software Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery. I saw on the website that this software supports recovery from Windows XP operating system installed on SATA hard drive. I installed the demo version of the software. Advanced searching algorithms of the software searched all the lost data from my SATA hard drive and displayed in tree format. I found that all lost data were recoverable.

I tried to save the data using “Recover All Files” icon displayed in the icon bar of the software. It displayed a message that I have to purchase the serial key of the software to activate it and save the data. I opened the company’s website and purchased the serial key of the software. In this way I recovered all my precious data with the help of Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software.

Disk Formatted Accidentally While Reinstalling Windows

My friend has a restaurant. He stores all the business related information like Account data, customer related information and stock on his personal computer. It is 5 years old Windows XP powered computer.

One day he come to me and told me- two weeks ago, he was working on my computer and it rebooted accidentally and here only he committed a mistake that he keep using it. Yesterday it stooped completely after BIOS. Now he can’t start it and access his precious data.

I backed up his data by attaching the Hard Drive (as a slave) to my computer and suggested him to format the primary drive and reinstall the Operating System. He went to hardware engineer and asked him to reinstall the Windows. After reinstalling the windows, system was working fine but we found that all the logical drives are empty. We asked the hardware engineer and he told us that he accidentally formatted entire hard drive.

My friend was very tensioned and crying bitterly. It is obvious with everybody because the lost data can destroy the business. I was not much aware of these things so I asked to the software engineer of my company and he told me that data recovery is possible in this case and recommended me to ask Stellar about this problem.
I went to cyber café and open the website of Stellar Information Systems Ltd and take the phone number of the technical support department. I called them up and told about the whole scenario. They asked me to use Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software.

I downloaded the Demo version of the software and start searching on the formatted drive. After completing the scanning process, the software displayed the list of deleted files. I was sure that all data are recoverable. I purchased the software to save recover the files because demo version doesn’t allow recovering the files.

Data Recovery from Unreadable MFT

I have a friend who works as a freelance software developer. One day, the hard drive of his computer was crashed. He had all of his data on hard drive including his running project that was almost completed and some other modules that were further usable in other projects. Unfortunately he didn’t have any backup. Struck with a grief of data loss and holding the hope of data recovery he came to me with his hard drive and told about his problem. I’m working as a hardware engineer in an organization.

I attached the hard drive on my computer as a slave and switched it on. Before booting the system it displayed a message that it requires to run CHKDSK on the hard drive. I let it go ahead, but by the time it start, a window pop up displaying an error message “Master File Table Unreadable” –then the computer just booted normally but the data were inaccessible.
Master File Table is probably the most important part of the system files that define a place where complete information about every file and directory on an NTFS partition is stored. It may get corrupted due to numerous reasons including virus attack, operating system failure, and unexpected system shutdown.

In this case, when MFT is unreadable, the operating system can’t read the files from hard drive because it fails to find the path of the particular file. In these circumstances when MFT become unreadable the data becomes inaccessible.

I didn’t faced such king of problem ever before, so i wasn’t sure that data can be recovered completely. I searched on the net for help in this regards and I have seen many software products related to this problem but none of them was suitable form me because some were of them very expansive and some were complicated to run (I saw in screenshots). At last, my search ended with Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery software. I found it appropriate for me.
After downloading the demo version of the software, I started to search the lost data on my hard drive. After completing the search, the software displayed all the lost data in tree structure that was required. I selected the recover all files option and it displayed a message to purchase the serial key to save the files. I purchased the serial key from the company’s site and activated the software in order to save the recovered files.

Unix Backup and Restoration

Data is the life blood of any organization and you need to keep it safe in order to save your organization. To prevent your data from loss, you need to backup it. Backup is the process of storing data to other removable storage media like CD-ROM, Pen Drive, or Tape Drive. Backup is the most helpful method in restoring data after data loss; no matter what operating system you are using either UNIX or windows.

UNIX systems come with several basic inbuilt backup options, including tar, dd, and dump.
• Tar: Tar stands for “tape archive”. It was originally designed to backup data on tape drive, but is actually a general purpose library program. A library program is a tool that copies a large amount of data into one larger file for easy data management.
Syntax: tar –cvf //

• Dd: dd is a very low level command for copying data. It is most commonly used to making exact copy of the drive.
Syntax: dd if=/ of=/

• It is the newest UNIX backup command, designed for simplified backups of complete file system.
Syntax: dump –oua –f / /
If you have taken the proper backup of your data, then you can restore it whenever required. However, in fact something always arises to require a restore. To restore the data you can use the following command:
To restore all data: restore –r
To restore single file: restore –i

In this way, you can recover your valuable UNIX data, using your backup. But in case, when you don’t have any backup or you failed to restore data using your backup, you may suffer data loss. In these circumstances, you need for UNIX data recovery software to restore you lost data.

Unix Data Recovery software are the software programs that are specially designed for data recovery from UNIX based computers. These software uses advanced searching algorithms to search and locate the lost data and can restore them to specified location on your hard drive.

Encrypted Data Recovery

I have windows XP powered desktop computer at my office. It has 250GB SATA hard drive. I use this computer for storing all of my business related data and information, so it is much important to keep it safe from unauthorized access and also to prevent data loss.

One day, in order to completely make it safe from unauthorized access, I encrypted the logical volume D of my hard drive, using the function of windows itself, in which I have stored all critical data and information. After encryption, it was working well without any problem.

After some days, I found that any software utility automatically creating folders in my “F” drive and also found that some already existed files are creating problem while opening. After some time, the same problem also started in other logical volumes. I guessed that the problem is created by viruses and entire hard drive got affected from it.

I decided to format all the logical volumes excepting “D”. I formatted the logical drive “E” and “F” using windows function (by selection “Format” option after right clicking on the drive). I formatted the primary drive, logical drive C, during reinstallation of the operating system.

I had my computer reinstalled completely and only with the data on encrypted drive “D” untouched. Now I know I made a serious mistake. I can’t access the data stored on the D drive, though I can see the file list here. I was the most critical situation of my life as I lost all the business related information stored in encrypted form on my computer.

I was much tensioned, my business was almost destroyed. Additionally, I didn’t have any backup of my data. I decided to take help from any technical support and I searched on net in this regards. I found a data recovery software and service provider company, Stellar Information System Ltd. I called them up and tell about my case. Technically expert staff of the company told me that complete data recovery is possible in your case using data recovery software; there is no need to become nervous. I get a shy of relief.

They recommended me to use the demo version of Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software. After using demo version, if I would be satisfied then I can purchase the serial key to activate the software and to save the recovered data. I downloaded the demo and start searching. After completing the searching process, the software displayed all the data that were recoverable. In the tree of searching result I found that entire data that is required were presented. I saved the search result to save the further searching time.

I was sure that my data are recoverable. I purchased the serial key from the website and activated the software and imported the saved search result. After few minutes the software displayed again the tree to the files and I save all the files from this tree to my drive.

Hard disk recovery techniques

All of us use Hard Drives to store data on our computers. They help us store huge amount of data easily and efficiently. But like any storage device they can develop errors or get corrupted due to various reasons. The process through which data is recovered after data loss is called Data Recovery. You need to understand the concept of data recovery as well as the various techniques associated with Data Recovery.

A Hard Drive can suffer from logical or physical damage. An instance of logical damage includes virus attack, operating system corruption, or file deletion. In cases of logical damage special disk imaging procedures are used. They help to recover readable data from the hard drive surface. Data loss which occurs due to these factors can be overcome using hard disk recovery software.

Other instance of data loss can be due to physical damage to the hard drive. Even though hard drives have become much more reliable and sturdy these days but the possibility of physical damage is still there. A physical damage can take place when the read-write head touches the platter resulting in damage to the head and coating of the platter. Physical damage can also take place due to mechanical wear and tear of the parts in the hard drive. There can also be Media failure or a failure while the data is being written.

These days hard drives come with SMART which is Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology, a tool to detect and report on various indicators of reliability of hard drives. You will frequently encounter error messages after a media read error. The files stored on the hard drive will not be accessible even though they will still be there. Additionally, bearings which help the platter rotate can also fail due to damage and the drive will become very noisy. If the bearings fail completely the drive will stop rotating and cease working.

In all these above mentioned cases, Data recovery will be undertaken by Data recovery specialists. It is also very critical to understand that data recovery process only needs to be initiated by competent and qualified professionals.

When the physical recovery of Hard drives is attempted, the damaged or failed components are repaired or replaced. Special hardware and software tools are utilizes during this process. The physical data recovery can be also attempted when a hard drive is severely damaged. It must be mentioned that for any type of physical data recovery, the disk drive or the damaged components must be sent to a data recovery lab.

Data Recovery after a Hard Drive Crash

All of us have suffered loss of data at one time or the other. It is a very frustrating and annoying experience. In case our Hard Drive crashes it can be a disastrous situation.

You can lose all your data due to a crash and it can be a big business as well as personal loss. Hard Drives these days have become very sturdy and compact but like any electro-mechanical device they can develop complications. A Hard Drive crash occurs when the read-write head of a Hard Disk Drive touches the platter which can lead to substantial damage to the magnetic media on platter surface. It will damage the head and coating of the platter will be stripped away. There can be various other instances which are routinely termed as Hard Drive Crash.

Other instances of Hard Drive Crash include an alignment or head failure. The read head of the Hard Drive is positioned at a minutely placed position so as to read the data. It the head suffers any positional problem due to mechanical wear and tear; it will be unable to read the magnetic signals. The disk will fail to read any data but if the platter is intact, hard drive recovery can be initiated.

Another common type of Hard Drive Crash can be a Media failure or a failure while writing the data. This problem is not generally associated with modern Hard Drives as they utilize spare sectors as a substitute if a failure occurs in a sector while writing data.
But if the number of bad or failed sectors on a Hard Drive grows and the number of spare sectors decreases considerably you will frequently encounter error messages. If you encounter this problem you will not be able to access files stored on your Hard Drive.
The files will still be there but will not be accessible. Data recovery process can help you recover data if this kind of problem arises.

A vital component of a Hard Drive is a set of bearings that help the platter rotate between 10000 and 15000 rpm (revolutions per minute). The most common sign of bearing failure is that the Hard Drive will become very noisy. If it fails completely, the Hard Drive will cease to rotate and stop operating.

You can recover your data in all these above mentioned cases with the help of Data Recovery specialists. It is very essential to understand that any kind of recovery process should only be undertaken by qualified professionals.

In these cases physical recovery of Hard Drives will be attempted. It normally involves replacing failed or damaged components. The recovery process is done using specialized hardware and software tools. The failed components generally are electronic components, read or write heads, magnets and drive motors. It will also in data recovery in case of severely damaged Hard Disk Drive. You can rely on Stellar to bail you out in all these problems and overcome your crashed or damaged Hard Drive related problems.

Blue Screen of Windows XP and Data Recovery

Have you ever faced the blue screen error popped up? Blue screen is an error screen displayed by Microsoft Windows XP after encountering a critical system error. In this situation, the computer screen freezes and only way to get pass this screen is to restart your system by pressing the reset button. This error is generally caused by three things:

A Corrupt Registry:
The registry contains detailed information regarding what in inside your computer. It has information about programs, printer, drivers, external cards, games and network routers. Everything is stored in the registry. If the registry gets corrupted due to virus attack or the user has deleted any registry entry in registry editor, then it may cause the blue screen of windows XP.

Faulty RAM:
if your computer system goes into the Blue Screen mode while booting up, that is when it’s accessing data from RAM (Random Access Memory) and the Registry, then it caused by the faulty RAM. Most of the modern computers come with 512MB or 1GB RAM. The more RAM we have, the operating speed will be fast and waiting time will decrease. But in case of faulty RAM, when CPU calls instruction from it, the Blue Screen on Windows XP appears.

Corrupted OS:
The blue screen problem may also occur when your operating system get corrupted. Any system file corruption or deletion may cause this error.

You can resolve the blue screen problem by using registry cleaner tool and checking the corrupted registry and fix them. If it works, then it’s great. But if it doesn’t work then you should check whether you RAM is connected properly or not. If not then reset it. In case, when both of these options don’t work, then the error is occurred due to the operating system corruption and you need to reinstall it.

Whatever the reason, the blue screen error lead to improper shutdown and may cause data loss. Data loss in this error may also occur due to registry deletion or system reformatting in order to reinstall the operating system. This is the worst scenario of data loss. Sometimes it may lead to completely formatted drive. In this way, you may loss you critical data due to blue screen problem. In these circumstances, to recover your lost data, you need for data recovery software.

Data Recovery software are the software programs that are designed for helping the user in recovering and restoring the lost data. The data recovery software can recover data in most of the cases no matter what is the reason of data loss. These software use sophisticated algorithms to search the lost data and can save them to their original location or user specified location.

Data Recovery from Inaccessible Boot Device Stop Error 0X0000007B

Sometimes when you start your computer, during boot process, you may get an error message-

“Inaccessible Boot Device Stop Error 0x0000007B”

This error can be caused due to an error in the upgradation of operating system or computer hardware. This error may also occur because any of the following reasons:

  • A boot sector virus
  • Windows registry corruption
  • Computer hardware upgradation like motherboard or processor

If any of these situations occurs, it may lead an inaccessible hard drive and may prevent your computer from boot. In these circumstances, when you system fails to boot, it is obvious that you can’t access the stored data from your hard drive.
The most generally suggested solution of inaccessible boot device stop error is to format the entire hard drive and run a fresh reinstall of the operating system.

There is a problem with this suggestion that it may cause data loss. If you apply this solution, there is a bid possibility of data loss. You should always make sure that the files you are going to format are no longer required. If these are required then you should take a proper backup.

Technicians and customers alike who though they had saved or backed up their data from their hard disk only to realize that after formatting the drive, there were files that had not been saved or included in backup. In this case, you may face a critical situation of data loss. But these data are not deleted permanently; in most of the case, data recovery is possible after a hard disk has been formatted or after reinstalling the operating system. You can recover these lost data with the help of hard drive recovery software.

Data recovery software are the software programs that are designed to recover and restore data from the corrupted of formatted hard drives, no matter what is the reason of hard drive formatting. Data recovery software use extended searching algorithms to search and locate the lost data. These software display the search result in a tree format. From this tree, you can select the required file and save them to their original location or you can specify your own location.

Recover data from damaged or crashed hard disk

It can occur in a number of ways. Your data may loss due to several different reasons. Malware or virus attacks and operating system failure can result in lost data and information for unfortunate computer users. Power surges are also compatible for resulting in data loss, especially for the computers without voltage regulators or surge protectors like UPS. And, certainly all computer users are the possible victims of accidental disk reformatting or file deletions. Luckily, even in such apparently disastrous situations, there are still some hopes.

Due, specifically to these annoying incidents, Data Recovery Software have been developed comprehensively. Data Recovery Software may be designed to use in several different special cases, but they all target to help alleviate the effects of the accidents or mistakes that resulted in data loss.

The worst data loss scenario would be that the complete hard drive has got corrupted or damaged. In this situation, hard drive recovery software will be very useful. You should always download the software onto another healthy storage device, not on the damaged or crashed disk; storing new data on the crashed drive might result in overwriting and data loss. The data recovery software may then be run from the second storage drive and used to search the crashed hard drive.

This search would analyze the damaged disk and resolve what data is recoverable (if any). You should note that it depends on how exactly you’re hard drive is damaged, not all the data on the drive may be recoverable. Various data recovery software may be used, but there is no assurance that any of these software will be able to completely recover your lost data. After the search, it is then the simple issue to substantiate and have the hard disk recovery software retrieves the data it can.

Different OS (like Windows, Mac, UNIX, Linux and Novell) may apply different formatting techniques and file systems for their hard disks. There are different hard disk data recovery software that are developed for approximately all OS and their equivalent formatting techniques and file systems for their hard disks. The demo versions of these data recovery software are available on the corresponding website of the company. You can use it to make sure that how much recovery is possible.

Another data loss scenario will be that only a special file or file grout is damaged or deleted. This may happen when a power failure or any other event lead to an unexpected or improper system shut down. Open files with unsaved data may unlikely be corrupted by this shut down.

Depending on what file or file group, that requires recovery, there are several data recovery software alternatives. For example, your corrupted file is word file then you need for word recovery software, excel recovery for excel spreadsheet and so on. There are some email recovery software are also designed for the outlook or outlook express user who have lost their data. Data loss is no longer an irretrievable process, thanks to today’s data recovery software.

Compressed Data Recovery

Compression is the process of storing data in a format that needs less space in normal. By compressing the data, you can save data in less space then it generally takes and can increase the capacity of your disk.

Data compression is generally useful in communications because it enables the transmission devices to transmit or store the same amount of data in fewer bits. There is a wide range of data compression techniques that user can use to compress their data.

Data compression is also broadly used in spreadsheet applications, database management systems and backup utilities. Compression is also used to decreasing the size of audio and video songs, in order to store them in iPod or in the Multimedia cards of a phone.

Sometimes when you start your computer, you may find that your windows is creating problems in booting or may find that any particular drive is empty. Means the data loss is occurred. That data loss may occur due to a number of reasons:

  • The data loss may occur due to logical reasons, like system software failure, file system corruption, catalog files node corruption or virus attack.
  • The may also loss due to the accidental deletion of the data by the user.
  • The data loss may happen due to the hardware failure or power surges. The hardware failure may damage your hard drive physically and may make it inaccessible.

If any of these events occur, may cause data loss. But you can recovery these lost data with the help of data recovery software or data recovery service depending the reasons of data loss. If the data is lost due to logical damage, it can be recovered with the help of data recovery software and if it happened due to hardware failure, you need for data recover service.

In case of logical failure, there is a wide range of hard drive recovery software are available in the market that can help you in recovering your lost data. But there is one thing that you should come to know that all of the data recovery software don’t support compressed data recovery. Before purchasing any data recovery software, you should make sure that the software you are going to purchase will support the compressed data recovery or not.

If you are facing this kind of problem, don’t you worry? You can recover your lost compressed data with the help of Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software. This is the wonderful data recovery software that can recover data from any case and any format. It supports more then 300 file formats. This software supports compressed data recovery with an easy and cool user interface.

Recover data from unreadable, scratched and corrupt floppies

A Floppy Disk is data storage device which is made from a disk of thin, flexible magnetic storage medium in the shape of a square or rectangular plastic shell. A Floppy Disk needs a floppy disk drive or FDD to read and write data on it. It was invented by IBM and came in 8, 5.25, and 3.5 inch sizes. It used to be very popular method of data storage and exchange during 1970s to late 1990s.

These disks were used by most of the computer users for data storage and were an important method of storing data. They were mostly used by computer users before hard drives became an important part of the computers. They were the primary means of storing and managing data.

Even though they were the most popular method of data storage they were vulnerable to damage due to reasons such as:

1. Magnetic fields
2. Flexing or bending
3. Excessive temperature
4. Touching the magnetic surfaces
5. Solvents or other reactive chemicals
6. Removal of the disk from a drive while in use
7. Excessive amounts of dust, smoke, or other pollutants

If any kind of damage takes place due to these reasons data on floppy drive would not be accessible and can be lost. To recover data in these situations, you will need the help of data recovery software.

The software will help repair and recover data from damaged or defective floppies. It also supports data recovery from unreadable, scratched and corrupt floppies. It also supports disk recovery when TOC (Table of Contents) is bad or damaged. The software can also help recover data from severely damaged floppies. It also provides data recovery when data can not be accessed and disk indicates that it is full.

Additionally, the software supports data recovery when the computer freezes while trying to read the floppy disk. It can be used with various file systems and operating systems.

How can recover deleted files

We all use computers to store important data. This data is stored in the form of files on our computers. It helps us to manage and organize data efficiently on our systems. It also helps us in storing and locating data easily and in managing data on high capacity hard drives. The data can be accessed at the click of a mouse.

It is a very convenient method to store important data on our computers. There can be instances when we are not able to access the files and folders on which data has been stored. The reasons can be temporary and permanent file deletion; files can also get deleted due to system malfunction, virus attack or software malware. After a file is deleted it goes to the Recycle bin. It can be recovered from the Recycle bin to its earlier location. Another way of deleting a file is by using Shift+Delete command. An ordinary computer user will assume that a file has been permanently deleted after this command.

After a file is deleted, its record stays in the system and the file can be recovered using undeletion feature. This feature helps in recovering files which have been deleted intentionally or by mistake through file deletion. The deleted data can be recovered on most of the file systems, but there are file systems which do not support undeletion. The process of recovering data through undeletion is called data recovery. Even though it prevents users from accidentally losing data, it also poses a security risk as normal computer users are not aware that deleted files still remain accessible.

In come cases, undeletion can not be attempted. It can be a badly damaged or corrupted storage media, virus attack or major system malfunction. We will need to recover data with the help of data recovery software in those scenarios.

The software is designed for safe and non-destructive data recovery from hard drive or any other removable storage media. It also supports recovery of raw data from badly corrupted storage media. It also offers data recovery in multiple file types including documents, spreadsheets, web content and images. The software uses powerful algorithms to scan your hard drive to recover data.

Data Recovery Software and Data Recovery Service

Data recovery pretense the last option to reclaim your lost, delete, damaged or corrupted data, once general backups have failed to restore the required data. The process of data recovery extents all phases of retrieving bits of data, ranging from automatic data recovery software solution that retrieve files from the inaccessible or dead computer; to emergency data recovery service done by experienced and expert data recovery professionals in a clean room atmosphere. These data recovery experts are well versed with file systems and other advanced techniques and technologies required for restoring lost data from failed data storage media.

Though there are some software programs that have inbuilt utilities for recovering and restoring data from corrupted or damaged storage media. But these utilities are no longer usable because no one wants to take risk. This is a situation where a small mistake can cause permanent data loss and can make it irretrievable, so automatic data recovery software are more popular and successful. The two main data recovery solutions are:

Data Recovery Software
Data Recovery software be able to do a lot of good things in the world of computers. These software make you sure that all the important data that you have lost due to accidental deletion, virus attack, operating system failure or any other logical error is recoverable and it can recover it.

There are many data recovery software available in the marketplace that can help you out in repairing, recovering and restoring your lost and corrupted files. These software can undelete the earlier deleted data and it can recover data lost due to uncontrollable cases like virus attack, software failure and power failure. These software are different depending on the operating system and its file system used by the user.

Data Recovery Services
Data recovery software solutions are possible only in case when your data is lost due to logical failure. When the data loss is occurred due to hardware or physical failure, data recovery services are required to repair your physically damaged media and recover the data. The physical failures may be head crash, motor stop and hard drive controller failure.

These are the data recovery hotlines that you can call to assist you in recovering lost data or you can send your storage media to the service provider to repair it and recover data from it.

Data recovery services are provided by a number of companies with their experienced and expert technical staff in specially created data recovery labs called Clean Rooms. These experts open your storage media (especially hard drive) and repair its damaged parts like head, motor and controllers. After repairing, these companies recovery lost data with the help of data recovery software. You should never attempt these solutions by yourself. It may cause further damage and can make the lost data irretrievable.

There are various companies are available in the market, some provides data recovery service and some provide data recovery software. Stellar Information Systems Ltd. is an ISO 9001:2000 certified data company that provides both data recovery services and data recovery software. The company has first Class 100 Clean Room of Asia and expert data recovery staff. Data Backup and Recovery

Data is the most important aspect of your computer. Though computers are the most reliable storage medium, the risk of data loss always remains. Data loss may occur any time in any form. To prevent your data from loss, you need to backup it. A backup is the copy of data. This copy may include important files and databases. The backup is required to restore your data if any kind of data loss occurs due to any reason including human error, logical failure or hardware failure.
You can take a backup of your data in many types by using many methods. There are basically three types of backup:

  1. Full Backup- is the starting point for all other type of backups. It contains all the data in files and folders that are selected by you to be backed up. As full backup stores all the files and folders, regular full backup result in simpler and faster data restoration operations. But there are some drawbacks with full back that it requires more space to store the data and its backup speed is slow.
  2. Incremental Backup- takes the backup of everything that has change after the last full backup has taken. It backing up speed is faster and the storage space requirement is low. But there is also a drawback that is restoration speed is much slower.
  3. Differential Backup- is much like the incremental backup. It offers a middle ground by backing up all the files that have changed since the last full backup has taken. It restoration and backing up process is faster then incremental backup and it requires less storage space then full backup.

These are some general types that can be used to back up your data to overcome any of the serious conditions of data loss. You can take any of these types of backup to safeguard your data that is suitable for you. There are several methods that you can use to take the backup of your most precious and valuable data:

Internal Backup tools are available with the operating system that can be used to backup your most valuable data. These are inbuilt system utilities that can be used to take the backup of your data. There are several options available with these tools to schedule you backup like hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

There are several other backup software are available that can be used to take a backup. You can install these software on your computer and can schedule them according to your need for taking the backup. These both tools store backed up data only on your computer hard drive.

  1. External Backup means taking the backup of your data on external or removable storage media like CD, DVD, USB and Tape drive. This is the most popular and safest method of data backup. This backup is taken manually by the user whenever he/she wants.
  2. Online Backup is the process of saving your important data over Internet. There are different web sites that provide the facility of storing your backup on them. You can store you data on these sites and can get it back whenever you require. There are less chances to misplacing backup media in this case.
These are the backup methods that can be used to backup your data for future security. You can select the type and method of backup that fulfill your needs and that is easy to use.

Though backup is the easiest way to keep your data safe, but troubles comes from every side. You may loss your backup also when it is not taken properly or the media used in backup is damaged, mostly in case when you have taken your backup on hard drive. It may also possible in rest two methods, External and Online Backup. It is very-very vivid situation for you and in this case you do not have any option to restore your data. In these critical situations, you need to recover your data and data recovery software can help you in this case.

Data recovery software can help you in recovering your valuable data no matter what is the reason of data loss. These softwares can be used by user itself without any high technical knowledge. You should select the data recovery software according to the system software (OS) and its file system. You can also have data recovery software related to particular application software in which data loss in occurred like Word recovery for Word application, Zip recovery for Zip application, Excel recovery for Excel application and so on.

Can You Find A Deleted File Even If Windows Can't?

It happens continuously throughout the world on personal computer and business machines, a file may be deleted accidentally or knowingly and cause data loss. Sometimes you think that you do not need for a particular file and you delete it. But later you feel that the file is required.

If you generally delete the file with delete button, you can find this file in recycle bin, but if you delete the file with Shift + Del key combination, the file will bypass the recycle bin and deleted permanently from your computer. A question is arises here in your mind that- can you get this file back? The answer is yes.

To know why you must know how the operating system find and show files on the computer. Every file and folder and bit of data that the operating system can access has a reference pointer. This pointer is the address of the location where the file is stored on your disk. These pointers are really very important for the operating system to be able to know if the file is exists. If the pointer is not available then operating system considers that there is no file with this name and extension.

The data deleted from the hard drive never lost permanently, the same sequence of 0’s and 1’s that make up all the parts of data and programs are still exists there sitting on the drive. It just can not be found because the reference of the data has deleted. In these situations, only the address of the file from catalog table is deleted and file becomes inaccessible for the operating system.

You can get these files back by rebuilding the pointers of these files. In windows this task can be performed with the help of inbuilt system utility called Chkdsk. In most of the cases of data loss, you can recover data with the help of this system utility. But what should you do, in case when you fail to recover data with it. This is really very bad situation for you. But do not panic. You can recover data in this condition also when your system utilities failed to do it. The solution is third party data recovery software.

Data Recovery software are specially designed to recover and restore lost data from your computer, no matter what is the reason. These software will help you in recovering data if your data is lost due to software problems. If it happened due to the logical reason like system corruption, virus attack and accidental deletion then you can recover your lost data very easily with the help of data recovery software.

In this situation, Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the best data recovery software. This software will help you in recovering your data in all the cases of data loss in Windows operating system on both files systems of windows - FAT and NTFS. This is a user friendly and easy to use data recovery software for Windows users.
